This home was created as the most dramatic example yet of Havencroft's interpretation of Yesterday's Craftsmanship and Tomorrow's Technology. It is the masterpiece of the only builder known to have won gold or silver awards in each of his first three years entering the parade of homes, with designs he created himself. Built
in 2006, this
one-of-a-kind estate holds ~5,550 sf of finished interior living
space providing 4 or 5 bedrooms and 4 baths plus a large powder room. Garage, porch, loggia, and various insulated or conditioned storage and equipment areas create useable space under roof of ~7,850 sf . The deck, patio, and balcony add another ~800sf of outside entertaining area.

The house is perfectly placed amidst rolling meadows and forests in a unique “working farm” 10+ acre lot subdivision just 3˝ miles from historic Hillsborough. There are views of water, meadows, and forest, with long-range views of the surrounding hills. The stone, brick and stucco
estate was designed by Bruce Weber to have the look of old European architecture
with Tudor influence,
while also updating many design elements to the 21st century. The simple
but solid lines of the front facade are castle-like, like many houses with this
style from the 1880's. The stone and brick
arches at the front door set the "old castle" mood as you enter.

This home was one of the most unique and creative architectural statements in the 2006 Parade of
Homes.
Most people picked it as their favorite at any price.
WHAT THEY SAID!
Reaction of Parade of Homes Visitors
| "The houses in Colvard Farms are no competition for this." | "You should have won the Gold just for the Master Bathroom!" | "I've been through more houses than 95% of the people coming through your door, and I've seen every million dollar house in the last six years, and this house is above all of them!" |
| "You should have won Gold just for the outside; and then you come inside!" | "The quality I see here is on a par with the houses in the Hills of Rosemont." | This is the first house I've seen with so much quality, and so many high-end features, that I'd still feel comfortable living in!" |
| Said by a man who spent over an hour looking throughout the house " I can't find anything I don't like." | We wondered if it would be worth the drive to Hillsborough. As we topped the hill and saw the house, we looked at each other and said "It was!" | Said by a Home Builders Association official upon walking into the Grand Hall - "Wow!" |
Some outside views

A super-wide angle
lens was used for some room shots,
which may make them appear bigger than they really are.
| As you approach, you might expect to see the owner on horseback chasing a fox with his hounds! The setting is truly peaceful with outstanding views of rolling fields and forests. | ![]() |

At the back of the house, brick gives way to stucco with dark trim boards, like you might see in Lucerne or the British countryside. This is a classic Tudor design element. The centrally located Ipe wood deck is behind the family room and has stairs which lead down to the basement patio outside the billiard room. The center of the three story tower holds the loggia, which is open to the outdoors through six arches. |

The Loggia provides the perfect transition to outside space from the main hallway. It provides access to the Ipe deck, and the stairs to the lower patio. A great place to read the Sunday paper, or enjoy a fine brandy and cigar after supper. |

The back yard remains in a natural state, with this garden area and retaining wall providing a quiet area between the forest and the house |
| Peaceful afternoons are made even more mellow by the amazing views of fields and rolling hills. You can imagine yourself getting away for a weekend retreat to the Tuscan countryside, while sitting at home. | ![]() |

The landscaping was designed as part of the "old century" theme, using anchor plant varieties that were available in this area in the 1880's. The planting areas have been left to grow with a wild look. |
| This evening view shows more architectural details, like the Carriage House garage doors, and the arched copper-top dormers over the garage. Also notice the custom made diamond window grids which enhance the "old world" look.. | ![]() |
