Inside Views
| Entry is made through
double eight foot Mahogany doors with 3/4 lights of chip glass with an
intricate design. The two story foyer holds curved stairs with wrought-iron basket style balusters. Travertine Cream Romani tile is 33cm here and 48cm in the grand hall. |
|
| The dining room entry is an elliptical top doorway set in a curved wall. Note the tile and wood boundary at the door follow the same curve; typical of the attention to detail throughout this amazing home. Double crown tray ceiling sets off the burning umber paint on the knock-down plaster texture of the walls. The effect is like leather. |
|
| The grand hall is truly grand style with massive open beams holding fans and pendant lights styled after those in the Biltmore Estate. The 50" wood-burning fireplace with limestone mantle has a gas log-lighter and outside air vents. |
|
| While the house
displays yesterday's craftsmanship, it holds cutting-edge technology for
energy and comfort. The proprietary energy efficient design by the builder includes sealed crawlspace, sprayed-in-place foam insulation, sealed attic, SEER 16 five zone HVAC with 14 return filters, and a 95% efficient propane primary furnace. The July 2008 electric bill for this huge house was $187. |
|
| From the foyer, this hallway leads past the loggia door to the stacked rear stairs which lead both up to the bedrooms and game room as well as down to the basement entertainment areas. Beyond the stairs the kitchen is to the left, the family room to the right, and the Master Suite straight ahead. |
